    Eddy Current Testing (ECT) Angola

Eddy current testing uses electromagnetic induction to inspect conductive tubing and surfaces at speed — the standard method for heat exchanger and air cooler tube bundles.

    Overview

ECT detects pitting, wall loss, erosion and cracking in non-ferromagnetic tubes without the couplant, cleaning and access time that other methods require. It is the fastest way to screen a full bundle during a shutdown window and to decide which tubes to plug, sleeve or retube.

Openmar delivers ECT with calibrated reference standards, tube-by-tube maps and defect sizing so maintenance and integrity teams can act on the results within the same turnaround.

    Applications

    • Shell-and-tube heat exchangers
    • Air-cooled heat exchangers and condensers
    • Boiler and cooler tube bundles
    • Non-ferrous surface crack detection
    • Weld inspection on stainless and alloy components

    Methodology

    Our Process

    01

    Tube Review

Review exchanger geometry, tube material, history and expected degradation.

    02

    Probe Calibration

Select probes and calibrate channels against representative reference defects.

    03

    ECT Scanning

Scan accessible tubes while monitoring signal quality, location and repeatability.

    04

    Tube Map

Deliver defect sizing, tube condition map and plugging recommendations.

    Industries We Support

    Standards & Compliance

    • ASME BPVC Section V, Article 8 — eddy current examination
    • ASTM E243 electromagnetic examination of tubes
    • ISO 9712 personnel qualification principles

    Why Openmar

    • Angolan company operating locally, with local content and mobilisation from Luanda
    • Written procedures and qualified personnel for every method deployed
    • Multi-discipline teams that reduce mobilisations and time on site
    • Traceable reporting that supports repair decisions and regulatory files
    • ISO 9001 quality management, ANPG registration and HSE documentation available for pre-qualification

    Angola Coverage

Openmar mobilises from Luanda to onshore facilities, yards, terminals and offshore installations across Angola, including Cabinda, Soyo and offshore blocks. Teams, procedures and equipment are prepared before mobilisation so work starts on arrival.
